With the opening of the Urban Information Center, the ‘CCTV Integrated Control Center’ and ‘ITS Control Center’ which were previously located in the basement of City Hall, will be expanded and relocated to preemptively respond to the growing demand for various smart city services, as well as advanced ITS services, for the upcoming 2026 Gangneung ITS World Congress.

A Gangneung City official stated, “Through the opening of the Urban Information Center we will showcase the latest ITS, advanced mobility control systems, big data analysis technology, and other specialized technologies that have been deployed across the country, as the 2026 Gangneung ITS World Congress is held to introduce to the world a model for small and medium-sized cities.
“In particular, diverse urban information will be swiftly and conveniently provided to the public via the control center, aiming to establish Gangneung as a leading city in mobility, advanced technologies, eco-friendliness, disaster safety, and transportation welfare, thereby enhancing citizens’ quality of life.”
