‘Gangneung Metaverse Experience Center,’ a space where you can freely unleash your imagination and have a new experience combining reality and the virtual, will hold its pre-opening from December 10 (Tuesday) to 31 (Tuesday).
As part of a project by the Ministry of Science and ICT, ‘Gangneung Metaverse Experience Center’ is designed as a multi-functional space for experiencing and exploring virtual worlds, with cutting-edge media screening areas and various metaverse experience zones.
The first floor was opened and operated for a trial period, during the 2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Games in January this year receiving a great response and is expected to be fully opened on January 2nd 2025, with additional content utilizing the second and third floors being constructed.
The pre-opening will be operated by a booking system through the Gangneung Metaverse Experience Center website (https://www.gnmetaverse.or.kr) with reservations for free admission available from December 4 (Wednesday).
Operating from 10am to 6pm with the last admission at 5pm, there will be a total of seven sessions per day, with two sessions in the morning for groups (10am, 11am) and five sessions in the afternoon for individual admission (1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm, 5pm) with a limit of 50 visitors per session.
‘Gangneung Metaverse Experience Center’ was created by remodeling the Green City Experience Center into a three-story building. The first floor consists of the Technology Hall and Sports Hall, the second floor has the Video Hall and five experience zones, while the third floor holds the Education Hall and cafeteria rest area.
A Gangneung City official said, “The Gangneung Metaverse Experience Center will be another attraction and enjoyment for visitors to the surrounding Gyeongpo tourism area,” and added, “We will work hard to ensure the center is fully prepared for its official opening on January 2, 2025.”
