Infinite Possibilities of Gangneung where Business,Culture and Tourism meet.
- Leaping forward as a leading city in advanced mobility by expanding urban circulation routes -
Starting Monday, February 3, Gangneung City will restructure autonomous vehicle tourist routes to provide locals and visitors with free opportunities to experience cutting-edge mobility.
A newly added route will circulate between Gangneung Station, the Bus Terminal, Ojukheon, and the Olympic Museum, enabling visitors to arrive in Gangneung via KTX, intercity or express bus and to board autonomous vehicles immediately.
Passengers can travel at no additional cost to locations such as Central Market, Gyodong housing complex, Gangneung-Wonju National University, and Sports Complex, and by transferring to another autonomous vehicle route can also reach Gyeongpo Lake, Gyeongpo Beach, and Anmok Beach, significantly improving accessibility.
Additionally, Gangneung City will operate an on-demand autonomous shuttle bus on a 13km course designated as a pilot autonomous driving zone, running between Yeongok-myeon Office and Samsan Health Clinic.
In February, the system will undergo a trial operation to ensure stability, with official services beginning in April. To maintain continuity, a local transportation operator will manage the autonomous shuttle bus service.
Reservations and inquiries regarding autonomous vehicles (including the autonomous shuttle bus) can be made online through the website (https://lmo.kr/autoBusApp/index/?regionId=RGN0001) or by calling the call center (1668-2115).
