​□ Exhibition Introduction

Katherine Bernhardt (b.1975, USA) burst onto the New York art scene in the early 2000s and has been described as the “perfect intersection of contemporary art and popular culture.” She depicts everyday objects, food, cartoon characters, and similar subjects in a bold and humorous way.

At Gangneung City Art Museum Sorol, several new monumental works by the artist, measuring up to six meters, will be shown for the first time in Korea, and around 140 works in total will be presented in this large-scale exhibition. This exhibition has been made possible through collaboration with David Zwirner, one of the world’s leading galleries and the artist’s representing gallery.
