GANGNEUNG CITY ENG - 솔향강릉

- Three-day event from June 13-15 aimed at attracting two million walking trail tourists -

​ Gangneung City announced it will host the “2025 Global Gangneung Trail Festa” over three days from June 13 (Friday) to June 15 (Sunday), across sections 5 and 6 of the Gangneung Baugil trail.

 The event, with over 250 participants including members of walking groups from across Asia (Japan, Taiwan, China, etc.) and Korea (22 domestic groups) as well as experts in the field was organized to promote Gangneung’s walking trails and discuss development strategies, with the goal of attracting two million walking trail tourists and creating widespread interest. 

 On the first day, June 13 (Friday), a “walking trail exchange event” will be set up to discuss promotion, activation, and development plans between participating groups Asia Trails Network (ATN) and Korea Trails Association (KTA).  

 The trail, divided into a full course and a half course, will start at 10 a.m. on the second day, June 14 (Saturday) ▲The full course starts from Gyeongpo Central Plaza and goes for 14km through Namhangjin to Wolhwa Street ▲The half course is from Gyeongpo Central Plaza and goes 6km to Anmok Beach where 1,000 participants in the annual Gangneung Baugil Walking Festival can enjoy the trail against the backdrop of Gangneung’s beautiful ocean .

 On the third and final day (Sunday 15), a tour of Gangneung’s traditional culture will be held, including walking through Ojukheon and Seongyojang, and enjoying Gangneung’s food and tea ceremonies, allowing domestic and foreign walking tourists visiting Gangneung to enjoy its nature and culture while walking.

 Gangneung City stated, “We’ll do our best to promote our beautiful walking trails all across Asia, helping Gangneung become the healing tourism capital of the region.”​
