-「2025 Marine Sports Farm Development Project」 runs from May to November for students and residents -

Gangneung City will run the 「2025 Marine Sports Farm Development Project」from May to November near Sacheon Port for students and residents. 

 It was designed to provide an opportunity to experience marine sports such as yachting and surfing that reflect the characteristics of the region and can be enjoyed as everyday sports. 

 This program is divided into ▲a one-day/three-day marine sports experience program for children and youth▲ a four-week intensive yachting education program for nurturing female athletes▲ a one-day yachting/surfing experience education program for the general public.

 The focus is on providing participants with opportunities to experience marine sports (dinghy yacht sailing, surfing) that are difficult to access on an everyday basis, increasing interest in the sports and allowing them to be enjoyed as regular sports activities, as well as nurturing and discovering professional athletes. 

 This marine sports experience program is part of the  「2025 Regional Autonomous Sports Activity Support Competition」organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. 

 The student program is open to those aged 11 to 18, the women’s intensive program is open to those aged 15 to 45, and the one-day experience is open to anyone who wants to learn yachting/sailing.

 Gangneung City said, “We want to create an environment where people can enjoy new hobbies or engage in racing activities on the beautiful ocean, contributing to the promotion of the health of local residents and the revitalization of marine sports culture.” ​
